Diane June Fauer

Diane J. Fauer, age 75, of Warren, MI, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2018. She is survived by her daughters Cheryl Gillis (John) and Wendy Wasinski. Proud grandmother of Tony, Matt, Raquel, and great-grandmother of Skylar, Max, Alden, Natashia. She was preceded in death by her father Peter P. Fauer, mother Josephine F. Fauer; brothers Christopher J. Fauer and Peter S. Fauer; granddaughter Jessica Mokdad. Diane was raised in Hamtramck, MI and was very proud of her Polish heritage. She went to St. Florian and Hamtramck schools, where she held perfect attendance and scored high honors. She continued her education throughout her adult life. She loved learning new things. Diane started as a licensed beautician and nail technician, and cake decorator. She loved doing her hair and nails! Over the years she worked as a cashier for Chatham grocery store, and as a sales and fitting consultant/educator for post-surgical comfort care and appliances for mastectomy and maternity patients, with a territory covering 3 states (MI, IN, OH). She was an honor graduate of The Sawyer School of Business, where she received multiple certificates for perfect attendance, typing accuracy honors for typing more than 5 minutes without making more than one error, and an impressive certification of a shorthand speed of 100 wpm. She had a passion for the medical field and furthered her education in Medical Billing, allowing her to teach night school of the same subject. She retired as a medical receptionist and surgical biller for three surgeons specializing in breast surgery and gastric bypass surgery. Diane moved to Warren in 1976. She worked hard all her life and bought a house that she was very proud of. She enjoyed cooking home-cooked meals and baking too. Music was a large part of Diane’s life. Elvis, Patsy Cline and the Rat Pack are just some of her favorites. She could name that tune in just a few notes! She loved indoor and outdoor concerts. She was always winning prizes off the radio, including plenty of “meet and greet” packages! Her love of animals was always apparent. She had many dogs over the years, but her dog “Connie” was her last favorite. A female black lab that was a sweetheart. Diane bought her dream car, a 1979 Lincoln Bill Blass Continental Mark V! She adored that car. She even had it displayed at the Edsel and Eleanor Ford house with the Lincoln Club, which she belonged to. She also drove it in the Woodward Dream Cruise! She loved traveling with friends over the years. She traveled to Atlantic City, California (visiting “The Hotel Del Coronado”, where the movie Some Like it Hot was partially filmed), Hawaii, New Orleans, and Las Vegas. She loved purple, her bling jewelry, and high heeled shoes! Dressing up was part of her daily routine. Parents Without Partners was a popular place she liked to socialize. Holidays were always a favorite for our family. Diane had a zest for life and all it had to offer. She made everyday a great one and lived life to the fullest. Diane will be greatly missed, loved and cherished, by all her friends and family.
