Amy Jo Gaffke's Obituary
“Like a lighthouse guiding ships through the storm, Amy illuminated our lives with her presence.”
Amy Jo Gaffke, age 52 of Center Line, suddenly passed on Wednesday, December 6th, 2023. She was born June 3rd, 1971, in Grosse Pointe, Michigan. She was the daughter of Francis and Darlene Delaurier. Adored wife to Mark Gaffke, together for 33 amazing years. Loving mother to Stephanie (Jess) Kerr, Carrie (Matt) Curry, and Ryan Gaffke. Cherished grandmother to Jaden, Lilah, Amelia and Rowen. A dear sister to Beth (Terry) Delaurier-McClellan, Kevin Delaurier and Johnny Delaurier.
Amy was a gentle soul who embraced every moment with positivity and simplicity. She had a heart that overflowed with kindness and her smile could light up any room. Amy had a natural ability to make everyone around her feel special and loved.
She was an incredibly involved mother who dedicated herself to her children's well-being and happiness. Amy never failed to listen, offer guidance and provide a loving and nurturing home. She actively participated in her children's lives by attending school events, choir concerts, games and often volunteered. She was their biggest fan and cheerleader, always encouraging them to pursue their dreams and reminding them of their worth.
Amy had many passions, including baking, gardening at home, traveling with family, music and camping trips up north. She found joy in attending countless baseball, softball and soccer games. A Skidmark for life, #01. Mark and Amy were known for enjoying concerts together. Whether it was music in the park or Kenny Chesney, she loved any live performance, especially with Mark by her side.
Above all, Amy's greatest accomplishment was her family. She was a best friend to her siblings. A devoted wife to her husband who adored her and the most selfless mother. She especially loved being a grandma. She was the glue of her family and blessed them with the most amazing memories together. Her impact will never be forgotten.
Her legacy of happiness and kindness will continue to uplift and inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known her. Her love for life and vibrant spirit will be deeply missed. May she rest in peace, forever surrounded by the light she so admired.
