Arthur “Art” Cote’, age 90, long-time Center Line resident, died on November 9, 2023. Born in Flint, Michigan to Julian and Irene Cote’ Beloved husband of Beverly for almost 70 years. Loving father of Julie (Fred) Hamel, Mary Jo (Terry) Belter, late Richard Cote’, Gregory (Sheila) Cote’, and Robert (Judy) Cote’. Dear grandfather of Bryan Belter, Kelly Belter, Becky Belter, Benjamin Cote’, Colin Cote', Kyle Hamel and Ryan Hamel. Great-grandfather of Carson Belter, Luke Phillips, and Calvin Hamel. Brother of Olivia Jedele and the late Valara Cote’. Many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Art was a proud US Navy Veteran having worked as a radio operator and served on the USS Healy and USS Van Valkenburgh. He was awarded The National Defense Service Medal, China Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, and often he spoke of his Navy adventures including his equatorial crossing. Art retired after 38 years from General Motors as a process engineer at the Warren Plant. He loved working on his lawn and keeping it pristine, enjoyed grocery shopping, basketball, and Notre Dame Football. Art was devoted to his wife, who loved his family and spending time with them above all. He was also a long-time member of St. Clement Church. He will be laid to rest at Great Lakes National Cemetery with military honors, date and time to be determined.
