Bernard Arseneault's Obituary
Bernard Arseneault, son of Jean-Baptist Arseneault and Adeline Richard was born July 17, 1924 in St Isidore, New Brunswick, Canada, died September 20, 2014 in Warren Michigan, USA, with his family at his side. He is survived by his wife Agnes, daughter of Eucher Thomas and Flavie
Comeau. They were married 66 years.
Bernard is also survived by his children: Roland (Jane Flottman), Yvette (Wayne Messing), Bertha, Joanne (Steve Piper), Roger (Sharron Piccinini), Philip (Carol Handley), Edward (Anna Babroski), George, Therese (Brian Kozlowski); grandchildren: Dawne, Lisa, Paul, Peter, Matthew, Michael, Timothy, Brian, Tanya, Toshia, Christopher, Derek, Bradley Katilin, Colin; great-grandchildren: Andrew, Ronald, Dillon, Brandon, Tristan, Alex, Madison, Morgan, Christian; brothers: Jules, Gustave; sisters: Eva, Josephine, Yvonne. Predeceased by brothers: Joseph, Azade, Telesphore, Oliva, Donat; sisters: Julie, Anne, Elizabeth.
Along with his family, he worked as a lumberjack in New Brunswick and spent 13 months in the Canadian Army in 1944-45. He spent some time in Montreal before settling his family in the Detroit area in Michigan in 1952. At Acar Broach he worked as a surface-grinder for tools to make broaches in the airplane industry. A well-known face at St Clement Church, he was in the Usher’s Club, Dad’s Club, and involved in various other volunteer activities. He was one of the first Board Members establishing Father Murray’s Credit Union. His children all attended St Clement School. For the last five years, he spent much of his time at home with his wife, who had suffered a mild stroke. He was well-loved by all and will always remain in the hearts of all he touched.
Visitation will be at the Rudy Funeral Home 25650 Van Dyke in Center Line on Wednesday from 1 to 9 pm with a rosary at 6:30 pm. The service will be Thursday at Out Lady Queen of Families Catholic Church, St. Clement Site at 9:30 am with a 10 am mass. Burial at St. Clement Cemetery
