Carl Joseph Grimm's Obituary
Carl Grimm, age 72, of Warren, passed away on January 20, 2026. He was born in Detroit to the late Frank and Margaret Grimm.
Carl was the beloved husband of the late Hazel Grimm and a loving father to Lisa Girimonte and Lori (Tim) Aggas. He was also a loving stepfather (also known as “Pops”) to Ruth (the late Joe) Suzich, William (Amy) Ringley, and Raymond Ringley. He was a proud grandfather and great-grandfather to many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom he cherished deeply. Carl is survived by his siblings Shirley Curtiss, Frances (Mike) Saleh, Frank “Sonny” (Norma) Grimm, and Margaret Ann Grimm.
Carl retired from DTE after a dedicated 40-year career as a millwright and served as a committee man. Throughout his career, he helped many coworkers through personal and professional challenges, acting as a strong advocate, a great listener, and someone always willing to help wherever he was needed.
A devout Catholic and a man of strong faith, Carl lived his life guided by compassion, humility, and service to others. He loved being outdoors and took great joy in working in the yard and spending time in nature. He enjoyed bowling in multiple leagues, golfing, and karaoke. Carl was also an animal lover with a big heart. He especially enjoyed playing bingo with his wife, Hazel, a pastime that brought them much happiness and held a special place in his heart.
A kind soul who deeply missed his wife, Carl was always looking out for others and was very blessed by the family he loved so dearly. Above all else, he treasured time spent with his family—especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him, and we take comfort in knowing he is now at peace in God’s loving care. Visitation will be held at Rudy Funeral Home 25650 Van Dyke in Center Line on Saturday, January 31,2026 from 1-7 PM. He will be laid to rest with full military honors along with his wife Hazel at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly on June 26,2026 at 1:30 PM.
