The last time my sisters and I went to Virginia was with our dad in my car to visit his sister Barb in the hospital. I demanded to drive there and back. All these years he made the trip and never complained, never showed he was tired. I remember I hit his brother Rocky's mailbox backing out of the driveway as we headed home. He never let me live it down lol He taught me how to change a tire. He taught me how to do my own oil change, how to cut the grass. He even showed me how to charge my battery when my car died in the middle of winter. He never failed to help anyone or show someone how to do things. All those jokes about kids holding the flashlights for their dads while they fix cars? That was me. I hope to teach my sisters and my kids one day all the things he passed on to me.
