Earlo Lloyd Harris' Obituary
Earlo Lloyd Harris of Warren, MI, age 71, passed away on May 24, 2022. He was born on December 18, 1950, in New Eagle, PA. Son of the late Earlo and Betty (Lancaster) Harris of Ellsworth, PA (where he grew up). Earlo graduated in 1969 from Bentworth High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and served his country in the Vietnam War as an E-5 soldier and was honorably discharged in 1971. Just before he went to Vietnam, he married his wife Connie (Amos). When he returned home after his one-year tour, they moved to Copperas Cove, TX where he would finish his time in the Army. Eventually, they moved to Warren, MI where they would raise a family. Earl worked at Jones and Laughlin Steel Mill, Chrysler Corp, and Eastown Distributers where he retired. Earl was a great golfer, had a love for the Detroit Red Wings, Ohio State Football, and many other sports. He was a lifetime member of the VFW Hall in Center Line, MI. Earl was always the dad of the neighborhood who fixed all the neighborhood kids bikes and a hobby was fixing lawn mowers and lawn equipment. His real hobby was golfing all over Michigan, across the U.S. and even Aruba and St. Thomas. Earl was most proud of his two sons, Earlo III (Sue) and Robert (Julie), and his three grandchildren, Ashleigh, Andrew, and Kelsey Harris. He had many good friends. Predeceased by siblings Cookie (Ed) Kirn, Earla Anderson (Dave), Betty Ann Knox, and Virgil Harris. He leaves behind his beloved wife Connie of 52 years, siblings Rawl (Dart) Harris and Janet, many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, his wife’s family; Louie and Jeannette Amos, Cathy and Ed Meredith, Carol and Buddy Richardson, Cindy and the late Greg Gehringer, the late Mark Amos, and his mother and father-in-law the late Louis and Kitty Amos.
Earlo was a member of St. Clement Church in Center Line, MI, and as a child, was an alter boy. No visitation or services are scheduled at the funeral home. He will be buried at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan with full military honors at a later date.
