Janet Kay Baron's Obituary
Janet “Jan” Kay Baron age 77 of Warren, died on January 17,2025. She was born in Detroit to the late Keith Sr. and Mary (O’Mara) Manglos. Jan grew up in Center Line and East Detroit graduating from St Clement High School Class of 1965. Dear wife of the late Walter Baron. Loving mom to William “Bill” (Amy) Weir and Teresa (Scott) Mezuk. Proud grandmother of 6 grandchildren; Nathan (Lillian), Brandon (Erika), Stephen (Nicole), Adrian, Kody, Liam and 5 great-grandchildren; Chandler, Emilee, Carson, Brooks and Lina. Jan was the sister-in-law and good friends to Kathleen Slebodnik and Janet Knisley. She was also survived by 3 aunts, lots of cousins and friends. She will be greatly missed by “her baby” and constant canine companion, Blaze. Jan had worked and retired after 36 years as an office administrator at the Mopar Parts Depot. When she was young, she would spend her childhood summers up north in the thumb area with her grandma and grandpa O’Mara along with many of her aunts, uncles and cousins on their farm. Always happy to be with her family, she was an active grandmother always trying to support her grandkids in all their school and sporting events. The faithful cheerleader in the stands, Jan enjoyed going to all their football, baseball, soccer, hockey and basketball games. Even recently, attending her eldest great- granddaughters basketball games. A die -hard loyal Michigan fan and follower, one of the highlights in her life was attending the Aloha Bowl in 1986 in Hawaii. Always the life of the party, she had a great sense of humor, was an avid reader, loved cross stitching and so very proud of her Irish heritage. Per her request, there will be no visitation. A memorial visitation and mass will be held at St. Mary, Our Lady Queen of Families Catholic Church St. Clement Parish on Saturday, February 22nd, 9:30am visitation for 10am mass.
