Janet Marie Mandziara's Obituary
Janet Hebert Mandziara, born August 24, 1941, passed away peacefully on September 4, 2024, surrounded by loved ones. Proceeded in death by her parents, Eugene Hebert and Aileen VanSlembouck Hebert, and 15 years to the day of her own mother Aileen’s passing .
Janet is survived by her eight younger siblings, her six children, Michael Blake (Sandy), Jeff Blake, Eric Blake, David Blake, Ethan Mandziara (Karri), Carrie Mandziara Niecikoski (Mike), four grand children, Spencer Blake (Marilu), Connor Blake, Nina Blake, Frank Niecikowski, as well as, countless nieces, nephews and cousins.
Janet will always be remembered for the lasting impact she had on her family. As the eldest child, and from an early age, she was instrumental in helping guide and raise her eight siblings. Janet was a musical prodigy, often playing piano and organ for the local church in her teens, and her lifelong voracious appetite for knowledge of literature, and the dictionary never ended. It not only made her a championship caliber scrabble player, but also, led her to be valedictorian of Saint Clement High School, and one of the first students of her high school to ever receive a college scholarship. Later in life, Janet‘s meticulously handcrafted quilts were greatly desired, and were given to family and friends as gifts with no fanfare ever needed, and they continue to be cherished and handed down generation to generation to this day. In addition to caring for her family, Janet became our family historian by researching our family genealogy well before the aid of computers and was instrumental in helping reunite, long lost distant family members. Always modest.
You will be missed.
Please respect Janet and her family’s wishes, as there will be no funeral services or visitations. In lieu of flowers, Janet would have preferred you do something kind for a loved one or help someone in need with Janet in your thoughts.
