Joan Marie Dietrich's Obituary
Joan Marie Dietrich passed away on Wednesday, September 27th, 2017 peacefully at her lifetime home in Detroit MI.
Joan was married to Milton Dietrich in 1960. Pre Deceased by Milton, she was the devoted, beloved mother of Michael and Duane Dietrich (Kimberly).
Biblically –Proverbs 31 Verse 10 (A wife of Noble Character) nicely captures her attributes as a Loving Wife and Mother.
Joan loved to sew, tailor, croche, knit, and even used a darning egg for socks (Our Great Grandma Larry taught her). Her sewing skills were recognized as she would drop everything to help family & friends with their sewing needs —she was a perfectionist. Also, in the early 1980’s, she would tirelessly type her sons and their friends college papers to help get them all through college.
Since the early 1990’s, Joan fiercely loved to start her day with a one to five mile walk. Literally, almost daily for the last 25 years, she would walk down Grosse Pointe Blvd. & Lakeshore Dr. with her son Michael, even arduously trudging through winter days. Local Grosse Pointe folks/retail shops dubbed Joan & Michael “The Walkers”.
