John Gerald Peplinski's Obituary
John Gerald Peplinski, 80, a Center Line, MI resident, passed away Friday, April 3, 2020 at Park Place Heritage Village in Warren, MI.
Born May 12, 1939 at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan to Alphonse Edward and Elizabeth Mary (Betty) (Staransky) Peplinski.
Surviving are his brother Al J. (Marilyn) Peplinski of East Peoria, IL; two nieces Angie (John) Kruis of Carol Stream, IL and Michele Peplinski of Chicago, IL; one nephew Robert (Julie) Peplinski of Friendswood, TX; five great nieces and one great nephew.
He was preceded in death by his parents Alphonse and Betty Peplinski.
John attended St. Clement Catholic School and graduated from De La Salle Collegiate High School in June 1957. He attended University of Detroit prior to serving in the United States Army from 1963-64 during the Vietnam War. He retired from Chrysler as a foreman and UAW member.
His hobbies included golf where he got a hole-in-one at Rammler Golf Club, horseshoes, at age 16 he placed 2nd in state (Michigan) and fishing. He was an avid Michigan, Michigan St., Tigers, Redwings and Lions fan.
He was a member of St. Clement Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Council #2835. While attending St. Clement Catholic School he served as an altar boy. A memorial mass will be held at a later date.
