Ken was a GREAT man that I will deeply miss. I was the Director of Fun at the Villas of Shelby during the time he lived there. When he first moved in I could tell he needed to keep busy. So I asked if he would like to volunteer in our Resident General Store. Ken showed up EVERYDAY running the store for 8 hours! He took ownership of that store and made it his passion. Oftentimes I could hear his deep singing voice billowing through the vent into my office as he sang in the store doorway. He rarely left his post, and when he did, like any good employee, he always informed his boss (me). He would leave me very long messages on my voicemail (lol) if he was going to be late, or he was taking a day off, (which was super rare). He was always FIRST to greet me every morning as he waited in his scooter for me to unlock the store door, and he was the LAST one to wish me well as he tuned in his cash till and we locked up the night. I have (2) children Sophie and Penelope who often volunteered at the Villas. Ken loved to sit and talk with them. He would let them pick out treats from the store that he would buy them, and he treated them like his grandchildren. Ken is a special man and will be missed. RIP Ken ❤️ Jac
