Leonard 'Bud" Nitz's Obituary
Leonard “Bud” O. Nitz, age 84 of Gladwin Michigan, passed away on Thursday, December 7, 2023. He was born on January 4, 1939, in Lorain, Ohio. Father of John L. Nitz, Kathleen Gamble, Diane M. Hobson, Heather M. Stone (Jason Akins), and Marco Fusco, who he treated like a son.
He was predeceased by his wife of 51 years, Gladys Nitz, his son John L. Nitz, his parents Paul and Elizabeth Nitz, and siblings, Mary, Jack, Paul, Doris, and Josephine. Leonard is survived by his grandchildren; Vanessa Scofield (Andrew) and Vincent Fusco and three great-grandchildren Lucas and Ryder Akins, and Luna Scofield.
Bud was a proud veteran and served in the Army from 1959-1961. He was a business owner who proudly serviced the Detroit area for many years and also traveled nationally as a pit crew leader for a drag racing team.
He enjoyed spending time riding his golf cart around Secord Lake in Gladwin with his dog Mickey while visiting his close friends Al, Jeff, Joel, Harold, and many others.
