Mary Ellen Haynes' Obituary
Mary Haynes, beloved sister, mother, grandmother and friend, age 73, passed away on Monday August 14, 2023 at Ascension Macomb Hospital in Warren, MI, Mary easy born on December 8, 1949 to Harold Reid and Dorothy Adeline Straw in Wild Rose, Wisconsin, Mary was one of ten children raised in Wautoma, WI in a large, proud, and happy family, she graduated from Wisconsin Academy in Columbus, WI in 1968 where she met, then husband, William Decker whom past suddenly on August 14, 1983, Mary then went on to remarry August Haynes whom she shared a life with for 37 years until his passing July 19, 2023, Mary Haynes had an immense love for life, simple joys, family, friends, and a particular fondness of children, some would say she was a child herself at heart, She loved fiercely, was fiercely, loved in return, and truly touched the lives of everyone she met. She was a homemaker for many years and in later years worked as an insurance clerk at Blue Cross Blue Shield, from which she retired. Mary is preceded in death by then husband, William Decker, late husband August Haynes, Parents Harold and Dorothy Straw, her sister Barb (Bob) Clawson, brother Daniel Straw, brother Delbert Straw, brothers-in-law Reinhard Gottke, William Moe, Leonard Haynes, Jim Hilliard, and sisters-in-law Winifred (Pat) Mero, and Lavonnie Straw, She is survived by her siblings Marilyn Gottke, Susie Moe, Jim Straw, Sally Hillard, Ivy Brehmer, Sanford (Karen) Straw, sister-in-law Connie Straw, her combined children Robert (Daina) Decker, Kelly Decker, Joseph (Jennifer) Decker, Adam (Lindsay) Haynes, Andrea O’Brien, August (Amanda) Haynes, Eric Haynes, Amber (John) Sweet, her 17 Grandchildren, 1 Great Grandchild and many more relatives and friends.
