Richard Lynwood Schleeter's Obituary
Richard L Schleeter, July 4th 1950 - January 8th 2025. A beloved son, brother, husband, father, uncle, grandfather and great grandfather. Richard entered into eternal life on January 8th, 2025, with his family in the home of his dear niece Elizabeth. Richard was loved by his large family, who cared for him with loving hopes of peace and comfort. Richard was born in Detroit, Michigan and was a true patriot born on the 4th of July, and was a real firecracker. He worked hard his entire life. Is a retired Teamster of the Detroit News, a builder and a business owner. Richard loved ALL sports; he never missed a game! He was also a news enthusiast. He was an avid Harley rider and loved his bike. He also loved fishing, water skiing, playing the saxophone, boating and living on the lake.
Richard dedicated his life to his family. (predeceased ex-wife) Jacqueline. Survived by his 4 children; Tammy, Dolores (Terry), Richard II (Tammy, deceased), and Rory (Krystal). He has 14 grandchildren (Tammy) David, Melissa and Kierra Rae; (Dolores) Jessica, Brittany (predeceased), Alyssa, Autumn and Christian, (Rory) Austin, Alexis, Makenzie, Robert (Roro predeceased) stepsons Christopher and Justin. Richard has 7 Great grandchildren (Tammy) Thomas, Nicholas, Owen; (Dolores) Kaiden and Ember; (Rory) Henrick and Milada Rose. Richard has 3 Nieces, 3 Nephews and several greats/great-greats/great-great-greats nephews and nieces. Richard is survived by his sisters Kathleen and Eileen (James); predeceased brothers Timothy, Lynwood and Robert (Bobby). He is predeceased by his parents Cleland and Dolores Schleeter.
A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, January 18th, instate 9am to 10:30am for 10:30am mass at St. Mary, Our Lady Queen of Families Catholic Church, St. Clement Parish, in Center Line.
