Stanley Peter Ziejka's Obituary
Stanley Ziejka, age 97, of Center Line, passed away September 8, 2024, surrounded by loving family. Born in Borzecin, Poland, the third of six children to the late Peter and Wiktoria Ziejka. They lived in poverty while growing up. He was taken from home at age 16 to work as forced labor on a farm in Austria during WWII. After the War, he went to Italy and enlisted in the Polish Army, and then on to England after the term in the Army. In 1951, he contacted his uncle John who sponsored him to come to the United States. A couple of years later, he met Cecilia and in November of 1955 they married. She passed away in 2015. Loving father of John (Barbara) Ziejka, Susan (Darren) Burch, Christine Ziejka, Richard Ziejka and Marie (Michael) Bissonnette. Grandfather of Mark, Natalie (Tom), Eddie (Kim), David, Justin, Colt and Great-Grandfather of Emileigh, Jack, and Sophie. Predeceased by 1 brother and 4 sisters in Poland. Stanley was a longtime member of St Clement Church since 1959. He loved Polish food, Polish music, Polka dancing, and bowling. He will be missed by all who knew him. A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, September 14th at 10:30 AM followed by Mass at 11 AM at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church, 31555 Hoover Road, in Warren.
