Theodore "Ted" Vincent Banas Jr.'s Obituary
Theodore “Ted” V. Banas, Jr., age 73 of Macomb Township, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 2. 2018. Ted was born in Detroit, MI, on Sept. 20, 1945. He attended St. Clement High School in Center Line, MI, where he served as President of the National Honor Society chapter. After graduating from St. Clement in 1963, he matriculated to Wayne State, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in 1968. Ted then proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1969 through 1974, including in Vietnam from 1969-70, where he was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal with a Bronze Star, the National Defense Service Medal and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. Following his career in the Navy, Ted returned to the Detroit area where he worked in the banking community for over 35 years, enjoyed playing golf and rooted on his Detroit Tigers. He returned to his alma mater to earn his Masters in Business of Administration in 1983. Ted was survived by his mother, Isabelle, siblings Linda, Marilyn, Paul and Patricia as well as his nieces and nephews, and also his companion Sandra Robinson, and her loving family. Also survived by Carolyn Banas friend of 46 years. Ted was preceded in death by his father, Theodore V. Banas, Sr. He will be buried at The Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly at a later date.
