Thomas Floyd McFarland's Obituary
Thomas McFarland, "Tommy Dog" age 68 of Warren, died at the John Dingell VA Hospital in Detroit on January 12, 2021. He is survived by his wife Debbie, together for over 10 years. Father of Karen McFarland and step-father of Charles Tallman, Edward (Nicol) Tallman, Melissa Tallman and Robert (Heather) Garrett. Grandfather of 16 and Great-grandfather of 4. Tom retired in 2008 from the Detroit Police Department after 31 years, in the eleventh precinct. He had also worked at Baker College in security. He was a honorably discharged US Army veteran, having served in Vietnam from 1970-1972. "Tommy Dog" as he was affectionately known, was a lifetime member of VFW Corporal Richard Menge Post 6756 and was a big fan of the Detroit Tigers. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Rudy Funeral Home 25650 Van Dyke in Center Line from 2-8 PM. Burial to be held at Great Lakes National Cemetery with full military honors on Tuesday, January 19th at 1:30pm. Due to Covid 19 restrictions, by order of the Governor, we are limited to 25 people at a time in the Funeral Home. Please be considerate of others while visiting.
