Katherine "Katie" Michelle Ambros' Obituary
Katherine (“Katie”) Ambros, age 37, of Grass Valley, California, and formerly of Center Line, Michigan, died on February 27, 2024. Born on July 19, 1986, to Bernard and Gail Przybycki in Detroit, Michigan. Beloved wife of Keith. Loving mother of Weston and Wyatt. Dear sister of Jennifer Przybycki, Melissa Hunsanger, and Joe (Erin) Przybycki. Aunt of Grace, Ally, Ben, Chelsea, Sarah (Luke), and Wade. Daughter-in law of Carol and the late Gordon Ambros. Sister-in-law of Laura Ambros and Gordie (Kerry) Ambros. She will also be missed by her canine companions Lucy, Smokey, and Ranger, and her many chickens. Katie attended St. Clement Catholic School through her freshman year and then transferred to Warren Mott High School where she graduated in 2004. She was a student athlete participating in volleyball, basketball, and softball. Her early employment with the Warren YMCA provided lifelong friendships. Katie’s desire and love of travel introduced her to her husband Keith. Travelling to national parks out west and hiking was a passion of theirs. On August 7, 2013, they married at Emerald Bay in Lake Tahoe, California . Moving out west to Colorado in May of 2014, and then in May of 2016 they moved and permanently settled in Grass Valley, California. The couple welcomed their son, Weston on February 17, 2015, and Wyatt on June 22, 2017. The very young family was active with hiking, boating, and camping. In November of 2018, Katie was diagnosed with ovarian cancer beginning her 5 year long battle. She will be dearly missed by her loved ones and many friends from Michigan and California. A memorial visitation will be held at Rudy Funeral Home, 25650 Van Dyke in Center Line, MI on Friday, March 8th from 2pm to 8pm with a 6:30pm Rosary. Instate Saturday, March 9th 9:30am for 10am mass at St. Mary, Our Lady Queen of Families Catholic Church (St. Clement site) in Center Line. A celebration of life will be held in California on March 17, 2024 from 12 noon - 4pm at The Sweetest Little Life, 210 Palm Ave, Auburn, California 95603.
