Ronald Cash Lapham's Obituary
Ronald Cash Lapham age 77, a longtime resident of Center Line, died on Sunday December 29,2019 at Ascension Macomb Hospital in Warren. Dear husband of Jane Lapham for over 40 years. Father of Jesse (Jackie) Lapham. He is also survived by his Grandchildren; Alexander, Aria, Alessia and his sister JoAnn (Winifred) Sears. Ron was born in Detroit to the late Jesse and Josephine Lapham. He was a graduate of Lincoln High School, Class of 1960. After graduation, He served in the United States Air Force both active and reserve from 1961-1967. Ron started his career as a police officer in the City of Center Line in 1966 after graduating from the Police Academy in Detroit. He was responsible for the first K 9 unit in the City. 11 Years later he would venture to Edmond, Oklahoma where he worked for the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
Returning to Michigan in the late 80’s, Ron became a teacher of criminal law for Warren Consolidated Schools at Melby Junior High for 2 years and before landing a job with the Sheriffs Department at the Macomb County Circuit Court Juvenile Division.
Ron loved his community of Center Line and was concerned about what was happening. He was voted in as a City of Center Line Councilman and served the city for 12 years. His lone vote often opposed the majority as he was adamant in protecting the citizens of the community. He stood for what he felt was the right thing to do. No visitation will be held.
